i make a lot of mix CDs. Been doing it since i discovered Napster in the 10th grade. It's really an amazing thing. While i did keep little journals and sketch/slam books all through school, the real way i think i documented the series of events in my life was through my mix tapes/CDs.
I get a little obsessed when i make them, i will admit that. When i make them it takes forever to find songs. I dont add a song unless it makes me feel something, or connect to my life in a direct way. I usually know within a couple of seconds whether or not this is going to happen. Thenn i put all the songs in order, which also takes a while.
OKAY. so that's a little embarassing once i see it written out...
anyway. I'm making a new one for the summer.. I started it in the beginning of the month and its almost finished, and i'm pretty excited for it. A lot of the songs are from the show Weeds. Its mainly all new music that i've discovered while listening to and researching them, with some help from iTunes Genius setting.. haha
Anyway, i think i may share the details of this CD, something I dont normally do because of how personal each one is. I think this time, though, i will do that. Perhaps this'll give direction to this silly new blog i have with nothing to put in it..
God, i hope that i'm musically literate enough to get my point across.. a problem i often encounter.
It's late and i have to work tomorrow..
